I always believe that we need to say “thank you” to the people who need it more at a time when they expect it least.
Grateful for the opportunity to deliver virtually the graduation message to primary students at my alma mater in the Philippines, Silliman University.
When you are a person who is thankful, you will not be ashamed to fail or make mistakes. You will not be afraid to pick up the bike after falling off and giving it a shot again. For when you are thankful, you see the goodness in people – you know they are there not to laugh at you but to help you, that they want you to excel in whatever it is that you are passionate about.
Being kind does not mean that you allow yourself to be bullied. No, definitely not. It means that you are strong enough to give people the chance to realise and learn from their mistakes, to change and become a better person, to see you not as an enemy but as a friend.
